AMONG THE MOST COMPELLING of the just arrived Christmas cricket books is Brendon McCullum’s autobiography, ‘Declared’. It includes much Australian interest especially in February the fastest Test century on record against Steve Smith’s Australians in Christchurch.
‘Pictorial histories can be tough. Balancing the ration of words to pictures is never easy and also the cost can limit the amount of colour reproductions. Another issue is the quality of the paper, with some of the older pics in particular not reproducing clearly unless printed on glossy stock.
Andrew McDonald is likely to be Victoria’s next head coach, replacing David Saker. The 35-year-old remains in England with Leicestershire currently and initially declared himself only ‘semi-interested’.
