Description

Golden Fleece was a popular Australian petrol company and in 1956 with interest in cricket bubbling it produced its own souvenir magazine on the ’56 Ashes summer in the UK.

The Golden Fleece Souvenir Score Book was sub titled, “A complete record of Test cricket and players with the compliments of HC Sleigh Limited”.

It is nicely signed on the front cover by Australia’s batsman of the summer in Colin McDonald, whose 89 in the ‘Jim Laker Test match’ was one of his proudest moments in cricket. Melbourne-based Mr McDonald is now 88 and still loves talking about the old times. He signed this with his left hand. (He signs cheques with hie right)

This near A4 sized booklet was handed out free to consumers. It is 16 pages and in very good to excellent condition.

It includes one page of player profiles, records, fixtures, scorecards and room for the Test averages for both teams.
