Description
The Qantas-sponsored Centenary of England-Australia Cricket exhibition went Australia-wide in 1961, celebrating 100 years of the game since HH Stephenson’s trailblazers arrived at Sandridge (Port Melbourne)at Christmas-time 1861-62. This little booklet was handed out free at the exhibitions at the various capital cities of Australia.
It includes ‘Headlines of a Century’s Play’, ‘the Story of the Ashes’, ‘England v Australia The Test Score So Far and details of the very first tour in 1861-62. Of particular interest is the colour picture of the Hon Ivo Bligh’s 1882-83 tourists. The brochure is in good condition despite a little spotting on the front facing cover. It is 8 pages in all (21.5cm x 10.5 cm) and ‘concertinas’.
